Full podium for OZ @ China GP in Shanghai
What a feeling! What a result! What a race! After months of hard graft, the Mercedes AMG Petronas W08 has its first win thanks to a Lewis Hamilton master class in China. The pressure ahead of the race was immense, with the garage a cocktail of emotions. In the end, Hamilton took a commanding victory – seeing off the threat first of the Red Bulls and then Sebastian Vettel’s Ferrari en route to his 54th win and the 65th victory for Mercedes-Benz as a Formula One Constructor.
Scuderia Ferrari leaves the Chinese Grand Prix with the second place of Vette. The race got underway on a damp track, with Seb making an early stop to change from Intermediate to Soft tyres, but because of Giovinazzi’s accident as all the drivers had to come through pit lane. Seb then put on a show, passing Kimi, Ricciardo and Verstappen, before closing on the leader Hamilton.
Max Verstappen delivered a sensational Chinese Grand Prix drive to rise from 16th place on the grid to third despite intense pressure as he and Daniel fought a thrilling battle for the podium spot in the closing stages of the race. Max's third place handed the team its 100th podium finish.
Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport, Scuderia Ferrari and Red Bull Racing pilots compete with OZ Racing made-in-Italy wheels, which deliver the highest performance and at the same time guarantee lightness, strength and record structural rigidity.
