In Melbourne, great star for OZ with Scuderia Ferrari victory and Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport podium
Ten years on from Kimi Raikkonen’s victory at Albert Park, Scuderia Ferrari has returned to winning ways in Melbourne, in the first race of the season. Sebastian Vettel crossed the finish line in first place after 57 laps, in a race whose key moment came on lap 23, when a perfectly executed pit stop for fresh tyres saw him rejoin the track ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes.
Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport celebrated a double podium finish in Melbourne, as a brand new Formula One season started with a bang. Lewis Hamilton led the opening stint of the race from pole but ultimately had to concede the race to Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel. Valtteri Bottas came home third – just a second adrift of Lewis – to score a podium finish on his debut for the Silver Arrows.
Scuderia Ferrari and Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport pilots compete with OZ Racing made-in-Italy wheels, which deliver the highest performance and at the same time guarantee lightness, strength and record structural rigidity.
