Sixth podium for OZ and Red Bull Racing in Suzuka
Max Verstappen resisted heavy pressure from Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton to take a well-deserved second place at Suzuka, as Nico Rosberg won the Japanese Grand Prix. In fact, at the end of the penultimate lap Hamilton tried a final gambit – trying to pass around the outside into the final chicane, Max made his car wide and the Mercedes man was forced to take the escape road. The battle was done and Max held second behind Rosberg until the chequered flag. Daniel Ricciardo finished sixth behind the Ferraris of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen.
